EXPECT this version to have bugs. Make sure you save often (and save it in new files, such as 'msave1.map1' ...five minutes later... 'msave2.map1', ect)
I'm not sure how different mapping styles are going to save, I also don't know how big a map can be made to load/save properly.

This brings me to my next point ".map1" is the current file type for my maps. If I choose to layout the file differently, ill release a new format called, you guessed it... ".map2", if this happens the map editor of the time will have the ability to upgrade a map1 file to map2.
If you didn't understand a word of what I just said, bottom line: I got you covered, so just map away and let me deal with everything else.

Controls: Use the arrow keys to navigate around the map, any black-red X squares are outside your map.... so you cannot place tiles there. Your default view is the bottom left(x: 0, y: 0)

ok i downloaded it and got the icon on my desktop and i double click it and it comes up and says to run it i click run then it goes to a thing that says send error report or don't send. wat do i do?

Sounds weird, I just tested the one I uploaded... works fine here.
Do you have an image folder?

You should see Map Editor 1.1.zip
> Extract it (This meaning pulling the files out and placing them on your computer... Desktop is usually a good place.)

You should see
MapEditor.exe
Images/ folder

The images folder should contain:
0.png
0->26.bmp
null.bmp

i just forgot to extract all files from the images folder when i did that it worked. because before that i only extracted the map editor folder not the images one.

You see the red circle in the center? You're gonna need a few extra sprites to fix that.
You can't use the one in the left circle, it looks retarded.

The save/load features are the things I tried to rush, and there the most important... I would like to start on a good foot and never ever corrupt a map file.

Go into the folder, push the map editor and images from the folder onto the desktop, Then it should work.
